Handyman Corner

Presented by Keith Schlottman, KR7RK

Whether you are a brand new ham or a seasoned radio veteran, you have access to the 10-meter band. In addition to being the only HF band with Technician class license privileges, 10 meters has many other unique features that truly make it the IDEAL band for all amateur radio operators! Keith Schlottman, KR7RK, will show actual current examples of how many hams are taking advantage of 10 meters. Keith is the Treasurer of 10-10 International Net, and has been a 10-meter enthusiast for 25 years. He has presented forums at Dayton and the ARRL SW Division Convention. This talk will include information about how you can get the most out of 10 meters even during the low point in the solar cycle and even if you live in an antenna-restricted community, as well as how to take advantage of some local 10 meter opportunities in the Tucson and Oro Valley communities.

After the meeting, we will do a brief "parking lot net" to allow anyone interested to make some 10 meter contacts using mobile and portable stations.
