At 6PM we will have special SKYPE presentation by Tim Duffy, K3LR COO of DX Engineering. As you might recall from his presentation a few years ago, Tim’s station is the epitome of amateur radio. Check out his website at K3LR.com. Just one simple statistic: he has 13 towers. Tim will be assisted by Cory Gibson, W3CDG, Operations Manager at DX Engineering.

Feature Presentation

Presented by Tom Kravec, W8TK

Field Day is the premiere event for Radio Amateurs. While it can be competitive and have some elements of contesting, Field Day(FD) is the best event to get on the air and sharpen your skills. For brand new licensees this is it. There will be plenty of coaches to help you get on the air and make some contacts. Hams who get on the air just a few times a year will find this event fun and rewarding. The whole idea is to get on the air.

Tom will talk about the Station setup for Field Day, the bands on which we will operate, the modes we will use i.e SSB, CW, Digital, the hours of operation, the logging program called N1MM, the information exchange that we will make with each contact, the pot luck dinner and lots more details. He will also review the Field Day Challenge, prizes and other mementos that we have for volunteers.

Tom will talk about a FD "Go Box" for emergency operations, Ron, W7HD will talk about how he makes the satellite QSO’s, and Scott, K7ADX will talk about digital mode QSOs on FD.  We will show the N1MM instructional video for FD and end up with a live FD pileup (without radios).

Whether you plan to operate this Field Day event or simply come by as a spectator, this meeting will help you understand what goes on at Field Day.
